Péter Róbert


Péter Róbert is a Senior Research Fellow on the Marie Curie Excellence Team.
He joined the project in February of 2008.

Biography

Péter Róbert has been with the Youth Inequalities Team since February 2008. He is currently on sabbatical from the Eötvös Lóránd University (ELTE) in Budapest.
He is also on leave from his senior researcher and project manager position at TÁRKI.
Péter has had a full-time position moved at the Eötvös Lóránd University since the 1908s. His current research interests cover social stratification and mobility, educational inequalities, life course transitions and attitudes towards social inequalities. He has been the recipient pf the Erdei Ferenc Memorial Award of the Hungarian Sociological Association in 1986 and the Széchenyi Professor Fellowship between 1997-2000.

Péter was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Madison-Wisconsin (1988-89), a Magyar Fellow in the NIAS (Wassenaar, Netherlands, 1997) and a Jean Monnet Fellow at the EUI, Florence (2002-03) as well as being involved in the ISA-RC28 Social stratification group. He is currently the Hungarian national coordinator of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP). Péter is a member of several international comparative projects including: Status Passages and Risks in the Life Course at Bremen University (1996-2001), Three Social Science Disciplines in Central and Eastern Europe at the Collegium Budapest (2000-2002), Self-employment Dynamics in Advanced Economies (2000-2003), National Patterns of Social Mobility (1998-2004) and the Globalife Project at the Bamberg University (1999-2004).
